How can a person be pro war?

My father is always saying if the draft comes you have to go and talks about war like its something to be proud of tels me to man up,but hes never been in one, at the same time he moved out of a place due to rise in crime and afraid of getting robbed afraid of drug dealers, hes been robbed couple times with knife pointed at him and says its terryfing but defends war like wtf is going on the mind of someone who defends war never been in one and says that getting robbed is terryfying lol
