When my friends heard that they confirmed it, and are calling me Jeffrey now as well to mess with me

I think it's probably with the way i talk, i really talk a calm,polite and formal way irl, and pbly also my behaviour which is calm and eased, i don't use a lot of slang words either.

i used to be deeply insecure about this when i was younger. I've even heard people call other people white and it deeply bothered me. My family moved out of the hood when i was born and we lived in a very posh white city. as a result, i sound and act a lot different than most black guys.

the reason why you don't sound black is because you're not in black culture. you have to change your friend groups, what you watch, listen to, who you date, etc. it's like learning a language. the more you expose yourself to it the more you will adapt and mimic it.

I dont think you should change all of your interests just to avoid ridicule. as long as you're not being kanye of candace owens, as in turning you back to the struggles of black people then you're okay.

I changed high schools from a posh city to a more black high school and i could barely understand what anyone was saying at first. after awhile i started to idolize rappers, speak in slang, and changed dating preferences. all because of who i was around.

Now as an adult i don't really care because i'm above all that dumb shit. The best neurosurgeon in the world is a "white acting black male". Speaking correctly, and not using slang is not the domain of white people alone. Don't listen to the ridicule and just be yourself. just dont forget where you come from as well.
