How can I be more confident in myself?

My parents always tell me like you should be more confident due to your looks as they always say I’m good looking and all this and all bit in my head I don’t believe them I feel I can’t be confident around myself. Yes with friends and alcohol especially but even stuff like walking around by myself in public. I find it hard and afraid of people’s judgment. I feel I’ve always had this issue and would love to have advice on how I can change this.
