How can I get CT scans done in the US, with a referral from a foreign surgeon?

I have a referral from Pagnoni to get CT scans of my skull. I can't use the ones from orthodontists because they aren't high enough resolution. He suggested contacting radiologists because they have the correct equipment.

Every radiologist I've called tells me they don't accept referrals from surgeons outside the USA.

How do I get around this?

Maybe it's just you had a bad CT scan done, and if you go to a different ortho they will give you a better CT scan?

In my experience you can't. Radiologists require references essentially, even if you're paying out of pocket. American healthcare, hilarious.

Essentially what I did was follow the traditional process for DJS with insurance, get a consult with a random MaxFac in the states, ask for the files, upload them as a zip somewhere and then send to the international surgeon.

Go to primary care doctor and request CT maxiofacial scan without contrast. Just tell them you have a deviated septum or something and was sent by ENT. If not get a random referral from a doctor and use primary care doctor name for the referral name while sending them the photo of the referral you received from the random doctor. 9/10 they don’t check really if your paying out of pocket. Goodluck
