how can i tell if i have a narrow palate

I am going to the orthodontis and I want to know if I have a narrow palate and if I could say something to him so I could get a mse/marpe if needed.

does that count if i purposely put my tongue up in my palate(like mewing) or is it supposed to close while I just let it out while my tongue is big as possible
