I go to one that's like 2km away from my house, I need to take a bus that takes like 12 minutes to get there + 15 minutes of waiting means almost half an hour just to go, I find this takes away my motivation to go there, I only went 2 days this week and I'm supposed to go 5 times a week and I find this is because of that commute, there is another gym close to my house I could go to which is a 5 minute walk away but I like the zone and style of the other one better, I've been thinking about switching to the closer one cuz I'm falling behind on my physique building journey.

2km is a nice jog

I have to walk a mile just to get to the bus stop

15-20 min walk

15 minutes cycling

Why don't you walk there ?

Chances are that you carry some fat, it wouldn't kill you walking to your gym everyday. 2km is about 25-30minutes by foot.

My gym is at the same distance from my home and I get there by foot everyday no matter what.

Stoping using that as an excuse for your lack of discipline.

About 5 mins by car. I would have motivation problems if I had to wait 30-60 mins to get there.

When choosing a gym, how near it is should be a big consideration.

I absolutely agree with this. It is at the core a discipline issue.
Some days, it's just tough to gather that motivation to walk there. But it would burn another 100-200kcal for free.
Choosing not to go just because it's far away *is* lazy.

In my experience, people tend to go less if it's far away and tend to work out much more frequently if the gym is nearby.

4 Minute walk, 2minute cycle.

Get a bicycle.
2km is 8 minutes cycling. With no dumb ass busstop waiting time

Run or cycle there. Quality of gym matters. I have a gym literally 50 seconds out my door, and another a 10 min walk away. But both are shit so there would be no point going to those.
