How come some ppl can’t pick up an accent after so many years?

i saw a old lady comedian who was like over 70 and went to America when she was 13 and still had an accent even if not that strong

Just blows my mind that you can spend ur whole life somewhere basically and never pick up on the way ppl speak

Could be autism I just never really had a problem imitating the way ppl speak I came to Germany when I was basically an adult 16 and ppl think I was born here

I can’t relate to that since to me it’s so easy to just mimic the sounds someone makes I never really have an accent but this seems to be extremely rare it doesn’t even mean I learn a language any faster I can speak like shit but I pick up on the way ppl speak very quickly

I never found anyone like me except some ppl online so it seems to be rare

I guess some ppl don’t develop this blocker after a certain age since every kid from 1-8 like some nigga said can already do this but after that apparently it becomes impossible to most

the funny thing is i didnt even grow up in Sweden, my mom is half swedish and i dont even speak swedish like a true swede but my english accent still sounds like fuckin Jimmie Åkesson when speaking english
