Because the progenitor population of North Africa, the Iberomaurusians, had about 3/4ths Western Hunter Gatherer DNA. They were gradually Arabized under Islamic rule, as were the Levantines and Mesopotamians

There were wars but they quickly assimilated and lots of the tribes simply sided with the muslims at the beggining of the conquests to defeat the rest of the pagan tribes, either because of beefs or because they saw an opportunity to be part of an empire. In few years being muslim they achieved way more than centuries being just amazigh or even when parts of north africa were part of the roman empire.

Also i guess physical elements come into this, we look very similarly because of the environment (Life in deserts), our native languages were not that standardized (Even until this day our arabic day to day dialects are not standardized and fusha arabic is the official language), etc

In this decade there has been intents by goverments to make us go away from arabic culture for the sake of native culture (Maimly because of US pressure plus Saudi/UAE investing in secularism in all the arab world) but it's fruitless because it doesn't possess 1% of the elemets of islamic culture, and no one feels a belonging big enough to reject Islam for it. It's not even logical because for example in my country riffians are the most "native" and lots of our people speak day to day with amazigh language but at the same time they are considered more religious than the people from the rest of the country.

This is something that only happens to Islam. Once a country adheres to Islam it's historically very difficult to make their people switch from it, that's why even in the most secular muslim majority countries people still vote for semi-muslim parties like what happens in Turkey. Very few examples of the reverse, and even them had to go through wars with external powers or were very influenced or straight hijacked by the soviet union and so on.
