How do I fix an overly recessed maxilla

My nose and chin both project pretty far but my maxilla is recessed and it completely fucks me. Already had braces and a palate expander but it didn’t work and my ortho recommended jaw reconstruction. I need something for now tho, I heard chewing gum on your molars helps but might be cope. Is it over? :feelswhy:
