How do i fraud needing mse/marpe? my current ortho gave me damon braces for my crossbite, im not sure if its actually skeletal or dental but in any case a wider maxilla would benefit me, is it worth to get a second opinion or is it too late to switch orthos? also im 14 so mini screws might not be necessary.

i tried to larp breathing issues but they still gave me braces, i might try to find a new ortho but switching is a pain in the ass

just tell him the damon braces didnt work, keep running through his suggestions until he recommends marpe (bonus if you say your snoring and your mouth feels crowded)

You shouldn’t have to larp needing expansion, just explain your symptoms.

The issue is you’re low IQ ortho; ignore any orthodontist that isn’t airway focused only.

Tell them you want a second opinion from an airway focused clinic, they can’t really deny it if you ask for one because it will seem like negligence.

You can’t larp any of this a real airway ortho, they will be able to diagnose you from a cbct scan and in person evaluation.

there is no airway focused orthos near me, best ive found is hyrax+tads, its just i show some symptoms of narrow maxilla so i wanna make sure thats not an issue, i guess i have no way of knowing untill my next appointment but idk what i should even be asking him tbh.

I am a young adult who had to deal with this situation it’s a shitty ordeal, try you’re best to articulate the symptoms too the orthodontist.

Ask for a recommendation to see an airway specialist and say “I want to ensure everything is ok before providing with braces because it’s a permanent decision”

IMO every single child should get some airway analyzation even with no symptoms because it’s such a neglected issue that snowballs as you get older.

Good luck, but don’t start lying about symptoms be honest.
