How do I get catharsis for my violent urges??

Title. I have strong violent urges sometimes and I do not wish to take them out on people (obviously I do because of the urges but you know what I mean as I do not want to go to jail or be a retard). How do I vent it out to get some relief for it? Does anyone else go through similar stuff or no???
