Just grow it out, considering you have Doli just let the hair be wide on the top so its depth and width ratio is as close as possible to 1/1.

It's worth mentioning my jaw is extremely narrow. So if I get an afro I'd bring more attention to my soy jaw

The most long term solution but the one that could be best would just be to buzz it off, and work on your frame. If you train your neck and do heavy compound lifts over a longer period of time your jaw and neck will change making it more wide. If you have a wide neck and a good frame a buzz would suit you well.
