F-1 student. Then you do a summer internship if they like they offer you a PPO, then while on OPT your employer files for a H-1B. You can also directly get a H-1B foreign placements from your engineering college that is also common. If hired senior/4th year the employer files the H-1B petition in April, but you might need to use cap-gap or start on OPT if graduation is before October so it all depends
Yes there are no immigration restrictions for students . You can apply to as many offcampus internships as you want even in your first year but actually getting one and having them sponsor it and incur the expenses is a different story thoCan i apply for internships directly from my college?
