Use a digital caliper to measure the height and use a tape measure to measure the head circumference at it's widest point.

There is no "ideal" range for head size, it just has to be proportional to your body, and head size generally increases with height.

An average head circumference is around 22.5 inches (57.15 cm) to 23.5 inches (59.69 cm) for a guy who's like 5'10" - 6'1", but it would look comically small on someone whose around 6'3" - 6'6"

Average is 7.5-8 inches top of forehead to bottom of chin. And circumference is about 23 inches I think.

Average male head circumference is around 22.5-23.5 inches.
