How do I not get a gummy smile from maxilla downgraft?

Title. I don't exhibit the syndromes of vertical maximillary deficiencies such as bad teeth show when smiling, but still it feels like its aesthetically too short, is there any way to circumvent from getting a gummy smile while also succesfuly vertically lengthening the maxilla.
 
Gummy smile is due to vertical excess of the alveolar bone of the maxilla. Since a downgraft only moves it downwards instead of lengthening it, I don't think it will fuck up your smile.

Actually scratch that, it definitely increases gum exposure the more I think about it. I don't think there's a way around that.
