How do I raise my shoulders?

I do lateral raised to make them broader, but how do I make them seem more "raised" (similar to when you shrug, your shoulders raise up and look more rectangular)

Do I have to work out my back? I see a lot of swimmers have this feature as well

A good exercise for the shoulders. For lat, you can go for wide grip pull up at the tower. I also go for lat pushdown. You can also go for straight-arm lat pushdown. I always go for a wider grip. This is how Markus Rühl used to train as well, always a wide grip for lat exercises.
