I dunno, personally my attention span being shit + increase in anxiety has made it near impossible to watch new movies/TV shows.

The old ones are comforting for some reason.

Ironically horror has turned into my favorite genre.

TV was much better 30+ years ago. TV programing peaked in the 1990s. Up until 1987 when the FOX network premiered, 3 Networks, ABC, NBC and CBS had a monopoly on new programming, the monopoly squelched innovation and quality product. FOX was followed shortly thereafter by a couple more networks that did original programing. 6 or so networks proved to a be a sweet spot, enough competition to motivate networks to produce high quality programming, not so much competition that the production side became too fragmented. Now there are like 15 networks making original programming and thus a giant cluster fuck with no one show being able to generate a large enough market share to justify big money for talented writers and actors.
