If you understand expected value there's no point in gambling

Its cause gambling rarely looks like -1000 all at once immediately it might go +200 -50 -50 -100 +300 -100 -100 -200 +400 -300 -200 and so on. They string you along enough to make you think you’re about to hit it big.

Money problems and hopelessness. I call it investing but it’s gambling.

Some people think their gonna turn 10 dollars into 10 grand, some people are willing to take 50/50 to double their money and some just really enjoy the atmosphere (me) when your winning you feel like the main character e.g. I was at the blackjack table the other day and split aces 3 times while I was max betting the whole table was going crazy and the dealer ended busting so it was smiles all round pokers also pretty fun even though recently ive gotten absolutely brutalised.

But yeah I don't understand slot machines

But yes losing is more potent then winning which is why people chase to get back to even or ideally up because being down feels so bad

OCD + hypercompetitiveness if I had to guess. You don't wanna walk away with less than you walked in with.

Nothing beats sitting at table making cash only to lose it.

Best advice I can give is don't do little shit fick faggot bets. You either go BIG or you go HOME. If u aren't willing to risk a 100 in one gamble just go jerk off at the slots instead

Partly it is the dopamine hit, similar to social media addiction. This is particularly true with regard to things like slot machines where you place small short term bets. 75% of all gambling addicts are male, but most slot machine addicts are female. Sports betting is almost always men, and that is mostly some ego thing. Some men have the skill of self deception that serves them well often in real life where they will take chances that other men will not, but that skill makes them succeptible to sports and poker betting addictions because they only remember their wins, not their loses.

roulette is highly addicting in casinos.

I usually make 200$ if I walk in with 500
