ive never seen a person type like that before unless they were getting paid for it like a news journalist
but somehow hundreds of people on quora who have explored the world or done some crazy interesting thing are on there all day writing 10 page answers to random questions written by a teenager who just jerked off

On Quora, the practice of crafting extensive answers is deeply ingrained in the platform's culture and functionalities. Several factors contribute to the prevalence of long-form responses, reflecting the diverse motivations and dynamics within the Quora community.

One of the primary drivers behind the proclivity for lengthy answers is the platform's commitment to providing high-quality, informative content. Quora positions itself as a knowledge-sharing platform, encouraging users to contribute valuable insights and expertise. As a result, individuals who are passionate about specific topics or possess deep knowledge in certain areas often find themselves compelled to offer comprehensive responses. This commitment to thoroughness is not only a reflection of the user's dedication to providing valuable information but also aligns with Quora's objective of creating a repository of detailed, well-researched answers.

Furthermore, the desire to showcase expertise plays a significant role in the length of Quora responses. Users recognize the opportunity to establish themselves as authorities in particular subjects by delivering comprehensive and nuanced answers. This strategic positioning can lead to increased visibility within the community and garner respect from fellow users. Consequently, individuals may choose to delve into intricate details, share personal experiences, or cite relevant sources to bolster the credibility of their responses and solidify their standing as knowledgeable contributors.

Moreover, the interactive nature of Quora encourages users to engage with one another through discussions and comments. Long answers facilitate in-depth exploration of a topic, fostering meaningful conversations within the Quora community. Users appreciate the opportunity to not only receive information but also to delve into the nuances of a subject, challenging viewpoints, and expanding their understanding through robust dialogue. In this sense, lengthy answers become a catalyst for a more profound exchange of ideas, contributing to the overall richness of the Quora experience.

Additionally, the Quora algorithm plays a role in shaping user behavior. The platform tends to reward well-received and extensively viewed answers by promoting them to a broader audience. Recognizing this, users may be motivated to invest time and effort into crafting detailed responses that have the potential to attract more views, upvotes, and followers. The algorithmic incentives, therefore, contribute to the prevalence of longer answers as users seek to optimize their content for visibility and impact.

In conclusion, the inclination toward lengthy responses on Quora is a multifaceted phenomenon, driven by a combination of the platform's commitment to quality content, individual motivations to showcase expertise, the interactive nature of the community, and algorithmic incentives. As users navigate this unique space for knowledge-sharing, the art of crafting extensive answers becomes a strategic and rewarding endeavor, shaping the culture and dynamics of the Quora platform.

quora was created as a counter-movement in response to the short and low iq responses of yahoo answers and attracted the writers of long emails, tumblrs, blogposts and people who write walls of larp on reddit.

It's just like here on .org, 6'5" top1% gigachads with 9inch dicks and making 100 000$ monthly are spending their evenings on this forum full of hopeless genetic losers to post essays about their supposed slays instead of having sex with those dozens of stacies that salivate at them 24/7, truly incredible how altruistic successful people are 🙏

I actually like QUORA's answers on average, many times you can't be deep in your posts unless you write a long post.
