There are a lot of non-kyc crypto instant exchanges where you dont need ID verification.

Just make a wallet first and paste your address when buying.

I personally use Changelly (to purchase) and Simplex (to send), I think you only need to provice kyc if you're sending larger amounts ($200+)

no, only if you want to use their buy option. if you only want to send/receive you can open one without age verification.
use phantom its the easiest one to use if you have never done anything similar to this.
use changelly to buy and send it to your wallet. from there you can send the btc to the wallet of the seller.

I was trying to use my moms info though, but I thought i failed maybe its the reason it works.

Just find a reliable source (lurk in body building forums) and find a source that have good reviews and people there say it’s reliable and pay with crypto, as easy as it is.
