How do you actually get rid of depression?

Ever since I broke up with my girlfriend, I’ve been struggling with depression and really low self confidence. Nothing I try seems to help and I just feel stuck. Has anyone else gone through this? What actually helped you get through it?

Depression etc. is all a matter of the head. Of course you are depressed when you talk yourself into it and others do it too. Think of your ancestors or the men of the SS, they never whined either
