How does it feel to have disappointed your Dad?

I never brought problems in my house, never was a problematic kid, but my dad was always disappointed in me for some reason.

I don’t know if he does this out of love to make me stronger, but how do you guys feel watching the disappointment in your own father’s eyes?

same goes for me it just feels odd tbh ik i dont really cause any issues kids my age normally do but yet still feel rlly disconnected with my parents

If you had good dad who helped you become a man, you wouldn't write that shit. In 99% of cases you are manipulated by your dad to feel like shit. Cut that shit off and become man on your own unless you are like 16 ofc then you shouldn't bother about disapointing your father in the first place. The day you will realize that just because he made you doesn't mean you should be his dog and make everything to make him proud, you will be free. I was like you in my late teens. I cut my dad out of my life and I'm much happier.

He's to blame for your fuck ups: you learned most of what you know about life from him(or should've learned it from him), you have his genes, and his actions during your youth formed you into who you are today

I agree totally, I’m 20, I cut my dad out, We don’t talk at all, but we still live together.

But that look in his eyes, doesn’t really touch me as much as it used too, but it’ll always make me think as why he’s so disappointed in me.

I don't know about your situation but in my situation my dad treated me worse than random people. He always talked bad behind my back and make up bs stories about me even tho I was chill and never made any problems. I wish I was fucking gangster so he could be right talking shit about me. Then I realized that he is fucked up in the head and now he is just random person to me. I don't care about him just like he didn't care about me when I was a kid.
