How far can someone with a sub-115 IQ realistically get in life?

Assuming they work hard, pick a good major and finesse their way into a job at an elite company through dumb luck/affirmative action/good looks/charm.

Depends on how high you are in conscientiousness

I only have 36 iq (confirmed by Mensa) and I do pretty well

Could probably become a doctor pretty easily

Then if you're in America that's ~$200k-$500k depending on what specialty you get into.

considering 115 is 84th percentile, I'd say above average

this is unironically true. russians have always had to make tons of efforts so they can live(not just exist) and find some unusual ways to make it, meanwhile average american could work a normal low wage job and have kids, family and free money to spend. all this led to the fact that the russians have higher iq on average than americans

IQ is the biggest cope. Study consistently and you shall succeed. Don't study and fail.
Interleaved, consistent and retrospective effort is everything.

IQ is not an overall indication of success. EQ has been proven to get people it good places in society based purely on likeability over excellences in a given field. If you work with someone hands on for 50 hours a week you are going to choose someone who is not a cunt or someone you can have a joke around with. This is dependent on job and the level of social interaction. But it's a role

In some cases IQ get's you into jobs other times EQ and likeability is a bigger factor.

i agree all this iq talk, i would say 8 out of 10 people can study and be able to do engineering and tech jobs. How you think those rich celebs and their children, get such high and good grades, they have private tutors and pay thousands a year for this. The reason most folks children can't learn as much at school is simple you have 20-30 children in one room and only one teacher, and in almost all cases the teacher is biased to focus on only a handle-full of students. Heck even if the class only has 15-20 students still its bad. Its almost impossible for the rich/celeb children not to get good grades at worst they will get avg grades aka a c+

Not far. I'm an idiot and I was a janitor for years but now I'm a firefighter.
That's like the pinnacle for me.
I'll never be an astronaut or a rocket scientist or an engineer or a surgeon.

depends on your looks and how likeable you are

beetlejuice is probably like 50iq with a deformed body, yet he has friends that care for him and he fucks stacies

Pretty far I think, at least as far as monetary success, career and life satisfaction go.

The best bets would probably be working in sales/marketing/business or starting a small business, perhaps in the skilled trades.

Engineering or medicine would potentially be doable too, but you'll have to work a lot harder than people who are naturally more gifted, obviously.

110-120 IQ is the absolute sweet spot man, u can go extremely far in corporate life, medicine, sales, etc, ur spot on ideal because ur below the IQ where u see the world as a neural net but can relate to dumb fucks, normies, and IQcels all equally well.

only place where ur not going to truly excel is the top, top tier tech, finance, or strategy stuff. you can get into FAANG, hedge funds, big 4, but u won't feel comfortable there as u will be clearly not as good as the superstars

Anything above 115 is cope unless you desperately want to be an incel nerd scientist like Tesla/Einstein.

Yes...the answer varies.

I.Q. and real-life functioning

© Paul Cooijmans

Introduction

This is a list of I.Q. ranges with for each a brief description of typical functioning and other features. The I.Q.'s are expressed on a scale with a general population mean of 100 and standard deviation of 15. They refer to scores on adult tests only, by adult norms. The exact cut-offs for the ranges are arbitrary, and one should realize that functioning may depend on more than I.Q. alone.

In addition it is known that I.Q. has the greatest significance to real-life functioning (and the highest correlation with "g", the common factor shared by all mental ability tests) at its lower and average ranges, and becomes less important as one goes higher; the more you have of it, the less important it gets, just as with money. It is unknown whether I.Q.'s beyond about 140 have any extra significance.

Brief overview of the I.Q. ranges

100- 115 IQ is better off starting their own service/construction company than going to college, unless you have some relative that is going to give you a white collar job out of college. Tree removal, mechanic, plumber, cleaning service, etc...

Lots of millionaires have 105-115 iq, not that hard to "win" at life if you have good social skills and looks.

delusional if you think iq alone can carry you

intelligence is important if you want to be differentiated mentally, have abilities that others don't have the higher you go

but then again, wealth is mostly generational, just like looks, or iq itself

the sky's the limit

Professions such as accountants or programers would be the upper limit.

Stuff like being a medical doctor requires a very good memory. Where I am from, you need to be in the top 1% to qualify to study medicine.

With looks, further than a 130iq subhuman

too many factors to take into account here

but below 100 here (i live in the dominican republic)and youre pretty much relegated to collecting welfare

best bet is begging and collecting welfare and spending all that money on lottery tickets

Cope. Sub 100 can learn a skill trade or get a government job (sanitation, public transit, etc.) with insane OT. They definitely have options, they just aren’t glamorous

there are just too many factors to even entertain this

most of the wealth is generational, basically the top 10 percent control 90 percent of all the wealth and resources. Most of these new millionares , and billionares got their money by opening a bussiness from which, wealth was passed down. Mark zukerburg got a 100k loan to start facebook, andrew gower the founder of runescape took a 900k loan from hes parents back in 1998.

yes stuff like like accountants or progeammers is the upper limit for most people being a medical doctor you need to be at the top 1 percent just to even get the job, let alone be a good doctor. The avg wage for medical doctor in the usa is 315k a year. Plastic surgeons make on avg the most, with it coming to about 520k a year.

i have personal experience with this in im new york and got accepted as a electrical helper for the city, after 3 years you make 83k a year before taxes, with ot you will make about 105k a year. Getting these kind job are FUCKN HARD, just to even get application they need to verifiy you have 3 years experience, and or trade school or community college at least, then you gota take a test. Then you ranked by your test score. Then not only that people with the best scores have first dibs on the best schedules.

Not only that they have one year probation period. Trade school is expensive, so is even community colleges nowadays. and for the experience its mostly non-union companies who hire you for min-um wages.

Most jobs that are high status AND high income require very little iq

they could be born into a rich family, then have a good business idea, then become a billionaire
they could have 114 iq instead of 115 iq

Those jobs people usually get by connections and or networking. These folks are on salary and don't work the hardest, they only come in for meetings and to check on projects, usually there only at the office 15-20 hours a week.
