I keep the camera and arms length away, rear view, to measure my FWHR and Midface ratio but is it distorted?

25000cm .

An outstretched arms length is usually good

I just use the back camera, go into a mirror, zoom into my face, and take it

Yea I did one from 6 feet away my Midface decreased like .02-.03 so I guess it's not a big deal.

get a DLSR camera to take more accurate photos
It's all about focal length and sensor size..

Smart phones don't cut it

A phone photo will always be a phone photo. But you don't have to go all the way to DSLR, even fixed lens cameras can do the trick. As long as its not some digital zoom bullshit camera.
