This shit so simple i wont even tryhard this
There are alot of popular "methods" from tiktok and other platforms, saying shit like no shampoo or stuff like dry shampoo, using SA for scalp etc. etc. just bunch of cope

To actually get rid of the overproducing oils, just buy a shampoo with normal fucking ingredients, imo i dont rlly like based, it has like alot of oils and just overrated as shit. Just find something without sulfates and silicones, i personally use Sukin (link). Doesnt have the cleanest ingredients, but works. Double shampoo

Next thing that made noticable difference was carbs. You have greasy hair because of sebum production, which is based on insulin, which carbs spike. Before i was running 300g+ carbs, now its around 75g and made massive difference, even when i drink milk(high insulin index)

That is like >90% of it, there are other things such as changing your pillow case, using scalp massager, etc. etc. mostly cope

greasy hair is often caused by the shampoo you use. when you shampoo, your scalp can become dry, which triggers it to produce excess oil to compensate

a good solution is to stop using shampoo altogether and instead wash your hair with water only, preferably using a showerhead filter. gently massage your scalp while washing to promote healthy circulation.

Sure you have better scalp oil balance which really is a healthmax but the problem with not washing with shampoo is that smells can accumulate and often times water isn't enough to get rid of the lipids and oils that are bonded to products in your hair, waters just rinsing it down and not really removing any of it.

Especially for people running a lot or just sweaty people in general like me, washing is really necessary to make sure it doesn't get too smelly. So for some this may work and for others its a crazy appealmin

this is very true, alot of people who shampoo every day get caught in a cycle of getting greasy hair and then instantly using shampoo afterwards as they dont understand what happens with their hair

I understand ur concerns about smell and product buildup. these are valid points for many people. for me the key is balance. water alone does not work for everyone. I found that a gentle scalp massage with water and a reduced carb diet lowers oil production. this means less oil to wash away. I have not had odor issues. ik this is a personal journey and what works for one may not work for another, for my lifestyle, this approach works well. I also have hyperhidrosis.

yeah but that cycle is much better than the alternative of horrible smelling product/sweat/oil(which yes is caused by shampoo) buildup for many people so I think it's fine that people use shampoo and product every day for consistent hairstyles

some hair types need shampoo less often, e.g. i have 2c hair so i have to shampoo less than someone with asian 1a hair. If i used it everyday it would make hair hair have lots of split ends
