Well, in this thread I will share my rating format and what I base it on (it's my own so there may be people who disagree, I respect that.

When evaluating male faces it is useful to analyze harmony, visual strength, and facial type. To do this, the following are combined:
PSL (1–7) – level of visual strength and facial harmony.

Hierarchy: Subhuman - Adam, categorized from weak to ultra-harmonious features.
Archetypes: Prettyboy, Ogre, Chadlite, Giga Chad, Rugged, Gentleman, Softboy, etc. Each archetype describes the “face type” and the overall feeling it conveys.
Halos – immediate perception effects(i only considere two):

Facial halo: Symmetry and harmony generate overall attractiveness.
Height halo: Tall, proportionate men generate extra presence.

PSL and hierarchy determine how striking a man is, archetypes determine how we perceive his style, and halos explain why he is instantly impressive.

Appeal must be taken into account, and I hope this section helps you understand why.
How Appeal Affects a Rate

Appeal is the overall perception of attractiveness that a face or body projects. It is based on facial symmetry, ideal proportions, secondary features such as expression, gaze, or style, and overall presence. It is not the same as PSL, because two people can have the same PSL but different appeal, which changes how they are perceived socially.

PSL measures the objective structure of the face, including the jaw, cheekbones, ideal facial proportions, eyes, nose, and lips. Appeal can modify the perception of PSL. A face with a PSL of five, like that of a Robust Prettyboy, may appear more attractive if it has a confident gaze, a relaxed expression, and an elegant style. Conversely, a high PSL with an aggressive or careless expression may be perceived as less attractive. For example, Timothée Chalamet has a PSL of four to five (Prettyboy). His high appeal, due to his intense gaze and elegant bearing, makes him perceived as very attractive, increasing his social presence without changing his PSL.

Appeal also affects the archetype hierarchy, which reflects visual strength and perceived authority, not just facial proportions. A Prettyboy with PSL 4 to 5 but high appeal may be perceived as closer to a High HTN or Robust Prettyboy. An Ogre with PSL 6 to 7 but low appeal may appear less dominant or less attractive than his PSL indicates. Factors that increase appeal and hierarchy include facial expression, style, posture, grooming, and physical aura such as musculature, height, and bearing. Factors that decrease appeal include constant negative expressions, neglect of style or hygiene, and features that are misaligned or inharmonious with the PSL.

In short, the PSL represents the actual structure, appeal represents how one visually impacts, and hierarchy represents the perceived social position based on both. The PSL determines the rank of hierarchy, appeal can improve or worsen how the PSL is perceived and hierarchy indicates how it is socially perceived within the scale from LTN to Adam.
