How important are looks? What's objective here?

After all this time I still don't know how important look are, I'm like pretty self conscious and insecure about the way I look, so it consumes a lot of my thoughts from a day to day basis and also because im chronically online but, I'm thinking about reality, and some people say looks don't matter and other people say they matter tremendously, so I don't know what's true, i mean obviously looks matter, but to what extent?

Know a guy who is 6 4 funny and the smartest guy in the skl and everone loves him and hes lmtn So if ur short and chopped just get ur bag up jfl. Looks dont matter that much when ur tall and mega fucking rich and funny ash

dating/sex: (so to females) they matter a lot
friendship/work: they don’t matter that much, if you’re slightly unattractive or average people won’t mind you
if you’re unordinarily ugly (ex with deformities or severely recessed) then it matters in both
mental health: they matter

looks is completely objective but what is appealing might change based on the person.

looks is what gives females dopamine spikes and attachment chemicals, which leads to true love. nothing else can do that (money, status, etc.) because they don't signal genetic fitness.

Personality and IQ matter because they also signal genetic fitness, despite the halo affect.

The only reason a female will compensate in looks is due to social, cultural, religious reasons, not due to biology or genuine feelings. For example, a girl living in poverty might trade an attractive partner to escape poverty, by marrying a rich man, not that she will have a fraction of love for him compared to the attractive guy.

Ugly people trigger disgust, beautiful people the opposite.
