How legit is the Dark web/ TOR and how do you make proper use of it?

I finally took a dive into it. No, I don’t wanna buy anything but I’m just a curious netizen lurker who wants to consume media. So far, the only thing i mirined about it is reading books in some library of the dark web JFL

I have heard,The Tor Browser hides your IP address and browsing activity by redirecting web traffic through a series of different routers known as nodes. Because Tor hides browsing activity and blocks tracking, it's used by whistleblowers, journalists, and others who want to protect their privacy online.

Once again, I don’t fall in this category but what I really am curious about is this-

Asking all you internet, CS nerds, is this really true? Basically 96 out of 100 info is on a hidden access?

I had read it on Quora saying you can have access to explicit vids like beheading, amputation or maybe some banned dangerous DIY books. If there are any TOR users here, I’d like to know how it has helped you and how I can make the most use of the dark web (without buying any shit or hiring someone or whatever)

You should stay away from the dark web unless you

A. Know what you are doing.
B. Have a proper VPN that protects your p.c. And network infastructure from any possible breaches or attacks.
C. Know why you’re there, and how long. It’s not a place you browse like Google or Instagram. You’re in and you’re out.

There’s a lot you can go on the dark web. But anything involving making money with it will be illegal most of the time.

You can purchase things ransomware, credit card dumps worth thousands of $$, weapons, drugs,etc

But to be successful there’s a lot of shit you have to avoid. Like hackers, malware, extortionists, FBI Agents/Law enforcement honeypots, links to harmful content like live torturing, child p**n, and just dangerous people in general. If you even have to ask questions like “how to make proper use of it” you should probably stay the fuck away from it.

Depends what you're looking for. I've never used it myself but I assume it's somewhere where you have an exact need and know where to find it. I don't think it's a place you can really "explore" because you might just stumble onto something illegal or nasty.

It’s legit but there’s a lot of illegal shit going on there, you should probably not use it. Mfers have also been trying to hire killers through there, so called hitmen but it’s all LARPs by FBI and that’s how people have gotten caught before. Just fucking lol. Don’t go to the deep web, it’s your best bet.
