How long should your first bulk be?

I started gymcelling in summer 2021 but I stayed basically the exact same weight and made little progress (although some normies did compliment me and I didn't get eviscerated when posting my body on /fit/). I started bulking for the first time in early December and I went from 78kg morning weight to just a little under 82 now. Probably too much but i'm still learning.

I plan to bulk until mid April and then get lean enough for mid June when I go on holidays. Is this a good plan? Kinda embarrassed at the progress I made, but I need facial gains in time for summer. I'd start bulking again in September.

water isn't warm enough to swim until like june/july and cutting is fast compared to bulking.

I don't really plan on swimming. I just need a lean face. I wanna have 2 months to get lean when I finish the bulk. Is that enough?
I'll probably be around 87kg at the end of the bulk and in 2 months I want to get down to as close to 80 as possible.

you can lose like 2% bodyfat a month without really trying.

No wonder u've made little progress. You cant get bigger without putting on weight

yeah I kinda fell for the recomp meme because I was terribly afraid of putting on fat to my face.

As for a calorie surplus you really dont need to go overboard, 250-500 surplus
Generally speaking you should try and be anabolic for longer periods and keep cutting short and fast, when you cut eat very high protein but go on a hard deficit to minimalize catabolism.
