Just a general consensus how many people on. org are taking some form of hair loss medication.

Finasteride? How has it affected your bodyhair?

I've never touched this stuff despite using steroids and I haven't lost my hair however I am noticing a very very tiny bit of recession likely due to age and if I could I'd like to maintain my youthful hairline for as long as possible so I'm considering taking one milligram daily.

However, I wouldn't want to lose my body hair and I have a lot of it on my chest. And I kind of feel like if I'm nuking my DHT my body is gonna be like what's the point in body hair? I'm almost thirty and having Norwood 1 at most. So I do feel like I'm a good candidate for Finasteride. Likely can regrow everything even to baseline. But losing my facial hair wouldn't be a bad idea because I kind of fucking hate it. Constantly I have to shave constantly having to keep myself clean shaving and even when I do that I still have a shadow.

But it's probably not going to be enough to completely lower my DHT. Still, it has to be something. Obviously, I would have accompanied this with minoxidil.

Did it actually work for you guys? Do you just get baby hairs back and they get longer? Or is the real hair that grows back?

Use low dose Viagra or Cialis coupled with topical Minox and you're good up until a new topical treatment produced

Viagra is good for pumps too. Didn't know it affected hair growth?

It's a vasodilator same goes for oral minox.

They also prescribe it after hair transplants.

Take 5mg Cialis daily on empty stomach + topical minox at night, you'd be good for years to come.

People on different hair loss forums take it.

Also look up natural DHT blockers, your case isn't severe, so you'd be benefiting off of them.

I used fin for 3 years (stopped now). Definitely works. My hair looked good on it and regrew thinner spots. I just found it affected my sex drive and erections too much and quit. Also found my personality and the way I thinking was different on it. Sounds weird maybe but I found that higher DHT gives a more logical way of thinking for me. When it was lower, I assume it was too low I felt more like a woman in thinking.

I think if you can lower your DHT without nuking it completely to a range where your hairloss is manageable this is the ideal. If you are on TRT it's even easier to dial in probably. You need to find the perfect range. Then you will have good hair and still good libido. Which in this case means not taking it daily since it is very potent per mg. I also noticed the drug built up over time. At the start I would feel decent and then after a few weeks terrible flatline response (except I had good hair).

If you decide to try it I am interested how you experienced it. I haven't seen a lot of people be in depth about how they feel on it. They either have no side effects or their dick doesn't work.

1 mg finasteride + 1.25 mg oral minoxidil a day

I use Finasteride for prevention as my mom's side is pretty bald (bald dad and brothers). Norwood 1 and 23-24, no real side effects per se, although I did get drowsy on it starting out.

My dick lost about 10%, so instead of 5.5, I'm at 5 :feelsbadman:

i use it for a while, on low dose 0.5ml of 0.05% topical fin rn and only have itchy nipples and brainfog.

when i went up to 1 ml 0.05% i had lower libido and worse erections and more itchy nipples

its funny how apparently only 1-2% of people who use it should get sides but i keep seeinr shit ton of people on threads like this who talk about side effects

I remember taking one pill (5 mg) daily for a week, and my nipples started hurting, so I reduced the dosage to 1.25 mg. Later, I discovered that the DHT suppression from taking 1.25 mg versus 5 mg was about roughly the same. If you're still unsure about taking fin, I’d recommend watching Haircafe on YouTube.

The only real negative side effect that I get from taking fin is increased libido so I have to jerk off everyday to cope.

you have low test

I'm on it, it helps

You're androgen defecient otherwise you wouldn't need dht
5ar has more metabolites than just DHT which affect brain and mineral balance. 5ar deficiency by itself causes hypothyroid symptoms btw.

I was probably lower 5ar already and thus getting huge side effects.

That being said this study shows that lower DHT rats had more prevelant symptoms of hypothyroidism since DHT can act as a metabolism stimulant.

In particular, the reproductive hormone profile showed significantly reduced levels of serum DHT in male rats at ETU 0.3 mg/kg body weight/day, which corresponded to the dose at which the hypothyroid status was more evident. Severe hypothyroidism has been demonstrated to be associated with the inhibition of T conversion to DHT by 5α-reductase, with a consequent increase in serum T concentration.

That being said if you have natural very high 5ar then finasteride might put it in the middle and you're fine.

This is debunked dutasteride doesn't cross the brain blood barrier, hypothyroidism is another thing it doesn't cause permanent androgenic hairloss dht does

0.5 mg oral dut and 5 mg oral min daily here

No sides, or at least not anything that overpowers my already preexisting physical and mental health bullshit enough to be noticeable

Stabilized my recession to a nw2. I have some sparse baby hairs here and there, but will need a HT to get back to nw0

Can’t tell effect on facial and body hair because I shave and laser it all off

nobody, cuz everybody use dutasteride

dutasteride mogs ... it blocks every pathway for dht production... fina only blocks 1 of the 5 enzymes responsible for his prduction

16 years old on fin

Wonder if I should try RU?

Who cares if it doesn't cross brain barrier? It's the effect on the cellular metabolism. Hormones convert everywhere in the liver, skin, etc. Doesn't matter if it's thyroid or something else. It's irrelevant.

This is not science but I think when you take fin/dut your metabolism slows down. I tested fin many times and felt (yes it's not based on science or any measurement) my metabolic rate was lower. Plus the destroyed libido. I can't imagine taking dut. I'd be a eunich.

Then I saw that study and it made sense since androgens like androsterone (and metabolites) have thyroid-like effects in the body e.g. lowering cholesterol (using it up for hormone production). T3 will use up cholesterol too to make hormones. Things that keep your cholesterol high in blood means you have SLOW metabolism.

Which made sense because I seen a lot of dutasteride users complain of high cholesterol meaning the body doesn't convert cholesterol to hormones.

Its because of increased estrogen to testosterone ratio if you're lean and regulary excercising you shouldn't have this problem at all

I've never heard of finasteride having an effect on body hair, don't know about minoxidil. The regrowth is real, although dutasteride is far more effective than both finasteride and minoxidil are individually.

I used finasteride at the age of 18, then i moved to dutasteride at the age of 19

BEFORE FIN

20230207 103318

20230207 103256

after 9 months and 3 weeks

20240916 163329
20240916 162851

20240916 163044

i combine it with minixodi topical solution l but i stopped for couple of days in this picture, so shedding should not be this insane

Some improvement happened but still not too powerful, so i switched to dutasteride, and its been my 2nd month

btw i used rosemary oil, barely any improvement, then used minoxidil, not much happened, until a doctor prescribed fin after 6 months of waiting for my appointment smh.
