How much can you trust a surgeon's design

I'm going to go to some consults with some local maxfac surgeons, as well paul conceancig. I'm pretty sure I just need a genio (although I have a small overbite and crowding of lower teeth), but I will ask them what would achieve the best aesthetic result. Is it a possibility that Paul would suggest a bimax or imdo or something even if it was unnecessary?
Also would a local maxfac surgeon even consider doing anything other than a genio just for a cosmetic outcome?
