taking 300mg now
 
300 to 400 mg about 1 hour before bed. If it's bisglycinate it's better.

does citrate still work?
Yes, absolutely. However, it has slightly worse absorption and relaxation effects than magnesium glycinate, but it still does the job. Also, magnesium citrate has some mild laxative effects too, so if you ever experience some gut discomfort, that's why.
