Probably like £200k minimum.

Bear in mind the Chinese will charge a brutal 20% tax on your capital gains. And if you’re US citizen you will be taxed twice due

IMO it’s better to bounce around SEA to avoid becoming tax resident than to try and do a permanent move to one country.

Fortunately I am not a us resident.
I was mostly interested in enough money to get like a okish
apartment + have like at least 20k in money for disasters.
I was mostly interested in china as I do want to have a family and I cant
just bounce around the world and get my kids depressed
(sorry for stupid way of writing just done finished a monkey analogy)

China cost of living varies wildly by city, did you have a preference?
You will be renting, property is beyond unaffordable in China and even if it wasn’t I’m not sure foreigner would be allowed to own.
You also need bachelor degree for English teaching type shit now.

is it beyond unaffordable as in "muh expensive" or as in korea unaffordable?
Also I was mostly thinking of only moving there If I am able to do something
remotely to earn money, if not I will move in like 3 years when I finish college

Prices per m2 are comparable to London. But pay is a fraction of London pay. Rental yields are extremely low though like sub-1% compared to 5% in the west. I don’t know why.

They won’t let you move there without working. You need a visa and work visa is your only real option.

How much would I need to work.
Could I realistically just do both the remote work and a job
for like 1 year or so slaving myself and saving money and than just do remote
or is there like a longer period

Illegal to do remote work.
Do not fuck with CCP because they fuck back.

But I've seen like chinese guys getting paid by platforms that
are not available in china like IG etc.

They are doing it illegally.
Google and GPT say otherwise. Basically from what I've seen you can do it but you need to have it specified in a contractual way.
