how much money in your bank account will be enough for you to live the rest of your life the way you want to and say fuck you to unwanted people or circumstances
for me thats 10 million+

Lowest would be 4 million for me.

Could even live on 3 tbqh.

1 million on a house.

2 million invested at 5% per annum is $100,000 per year.

I don't live expensively so I expect that I will reinvest a fair chunk of said $100,000.

around 5 million in my local currency or 1.25 million usd, I am halfway there

£400k, let’s be realistic. Will take me 15 years to save that at 100% saving rate (impossible) and I already make above average uk salary.

Ngl, even that is hard to save up in todays economy. Making money is way harder than people out here make it out to be.

They’re young and naive, they think they will all be winners. In reality if you’re on this forum you’re probably going to be lucky to even be an average earner.

Boomers had it easy because population was still growing and basically everyone was guaranteed to rise through the corporate ladder, the whole idea that your salary will increase through your life is not a guarantee now, most will be stuck at entry level forever.

Exactly, but yeah time will tell them the reality of life. We can try to tell thwm but it will be too potent for them that way.

Minimum for an average, middle-class lifestyle? About 4 million:

-1 million to buy a house.

-3 million to provide passive income (4% annual withdrawal rate from 3 million= $120K annually).

$120K/yr is enough to pay all your expenses, including your medical insurance, plus a vacation or two a year.

If you really want to slum it, you can get by with as little as 2 million, if you move to an affordable area.
