Twice a year

Haven't visited a dentist in over 7 years now
Funny GIF

I've never had any issues with my teeth though, never had any cavities and they are still pretty white as well despite having a history of smoking cigarettes/weed in the past.

Can't you clean them at home?

I haven’t been to the dentist since I had a root canal at 11. I’m 24 now but I take good care of my teeth.

You will damage your teeth
Lol, not if you know what you're doing.
Dentists can just as well damage your teeth, they don't care, it's not their teeth, when you're working on your own teeth, you're more careful than a dentist...

Do you recommend getting the cleaning tools they use

Yes, it's easier to reach tight spaces and work behind the teeth. In an emergency however you can easily use improvised tools, it's not brain surgery.

Never even stepped foot in a dentist office in my entire life. Also, never floss either. Caveman type shit

when you're young it's not that necessary, but when you become older and damage starts accumulating you'll cause irreversible damage if you neglect regular dental care. Not to mention a cavity won't cause you any issues until it hits the nerve, which at that point the tooth is dead and will need a root canal (trust me you don't want that).
