using braces rn and seeing an orthodontist in a couple weeks, should i ask for palate expander? i’ll send more pics if you need

im getting one of those rubber things with the braces that push the mandible forward soon because of my overbite, orthodontist says that it should work

Might help but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Ask them about your BSSO candidacy (under insurance, you may have OSA consequent to a recessed jaw).

It's functional, not cosmetic.
I already mentioned that your recession could be causing OSA, potentially other symptoms too.
Speak to your orthodontist, get a sleep test, see how you go.
Going back and forth with me here won't solve your problems.
