How risky is mse and msdo?

The „russian surgeon“ has very good prices for both treatments.
I would only do a big surgery like double jaw in my own country (safety and high inhib reasons).
Would mse/msdo be less risky, and worth travelling to russia?
After the installation, how many times would i need to fly back? There are almost no reports on youtube or other platforms about the treatments and recovery.

Take into consideration that you need to find an orthodontist that is willing to work with your bite after MSE + MSDO

I think that shouldnt be a problem.
I am more worried about, that the surgeon maybe did the procedure 1-2 times, and is not very experienced with it. I also cant find anything about the after pain and recovery phase. Travelling to russia for such a procedure will be a big adventure.

Bro I wound't advice you to do MSE overseas because anything can go wrong while your expanding in your home country.
I found an Ortho that does MSE in my country and he told me about expanding the midface so he really knew his shit but what made me change my mind about it is he said you will need another surgery after the BiMax to expand my lower jaw. But thank fully I'm not too subhuman for that

Now don't get me wrong my maxilla needs expansion but it's only 2-4mm so it's not really cost effective for me to pay my ortho 5000$ just to expand this much!
I would rather get a bulbous tip reduction + a lip lift with that money

Both my ortho and my surgeon Dr. Alexander Antipov told me to get Bimax and just cheek implants for my midface and I'm gonna do that cuz I'm not getting any younger and I'm not waiting a fucking decade to do my surgeries

I agree with @Sergio-OMS . You need to make sure that the midline suture actually opens with MSE before you split your chin in half to do MSDO.

As touched upon, getting the midline suture to split with MSE is the biggest hurdle and after that you should be g2g with MSDO.

Honestly though I'm not sure why you are considering going overseas for either? The biggest cost for any expansion treatment is probably the fixed orthodontics afterwards, so while you may be saving a bit abroad vs your native country, the savings are going to be a drop in the bucket relative to the overall cost of treatment. In short, you can get MSE installed in Russia, but the itemized cost of braces afterwards on average is going to be the same and significantly greater than the MSE, as the MSE itself is just a mass produced hunk of metal customized and adjusted for you by a lab, and which barely requires any skill or finesse to install other than working hands.

MSDO abroad makes some sense on paper since the surgery will be itself cheaper, but unless you are European and can get to Russia np should any complications/other issues arise then I think the trade-off between a few thousand dollars in savings on treatment, travel costs and convenience makes little sense. If you're in the US it makes even less sense should a complication occur and you get hospitalized+raped by medical bills, for example.
