How safe is minoxidil? Are there any new studies on it that I don’t know about?

I’ve been using minoxidil for 8 months total. I really like it and am not going to quit for the next 6-12 months, unless it turns out that it’s not safe. So is it safe? I have no side effects whatsoever.

Never had side effects either, and I've used it for about a year now. Collagen has not been 404'd.

but not everyone can say the same....

use the foam if you're worried about side effects

I plan on having a short beard forever. I don’t think I’ll ever go clean shaven so even if it makes the skin a little worse, it’s invisible under the beard.

i've been using it for like 2 years now everyday

started with trying to use it for beard but hated how it made my face feel (dry/shitty)

now i just use it on my temples and eyebrows

feel perfectly fine, and any damage to my collagen was only done when i was using it for beard gains, and it was reversed by tretinoin and my skin is better than it's been in my whole life anyway

I’m worried about long term stuff like damaged DNA or some shit
damaged dna? they've ran tests on how minoxidil effects sperm production or if it may cause infertility and every test has completely debunked it as far as i know. imo from what i've read what minoxidil does that's a complete impossibility

finasateride on the other hand... since it directly effects your prostate it could fuck up your fertility, but i've read it reverses once you hop off

my final verdict on minoxidil is if you experience "sides" from it you're just a complete pussy who's looking for sides when they're not there, it's such a mild topical that it genuinely shouldnt change how you feel whatsoever unless you literally bathe in it.

It gave me hair all over my body even though I only used on my face and neck. Not that mild.

same dude, i used it for beard at first and it made my skin dry and worsened my acne a lot even tho i was on retin-a at that time too, now i've been using it for 4-5 months on my hair and don't have any sides.. sometimes if i apply too much i might feel faintness/dizziness when i'm sitting and get up but that's only if i apply too much.

yeah same, even tho i've been using it only on hair it made my whole body more hairy, the good thing is - even my beard got denser so it's not really a bad thing.. just gotta trim my body more often

I don’t really mind body hair, on my chest and arms it even looks good. I’m glad minox is making me look more like a man. I felt inadequate as a teenager because everyone body and facial hair mogged me.

i'm naturally pretty hairy so i don't like that.. i use trimmer on my chest, abs, armpits twice a week.. also legs/arms like once a month since they get too hairy, hell i even started to get back hairs now too, they're barely visible so hopefully they stay that way 😬
also really weird but i even got some hairs on my penis shaft, hate having to shave it so often

It’s no big deal. Having a shitty beard is worse. You can laser remove all the unwanted hairs if they bother you too much.
