In history classes back in high school, when the topic was harems of the past, our teachers would always talk about how one selfish guy used to have many wives and the women were conditioned to be okay with that situation.
They would always paint the women as victims and the man as the bad guy. They’d go on and on about how the girl’s families arranged their marriage and they couldn’t opt out of it and they also couldn’t be jealous…
Looking back, why was no one talking about the fact that if some men had many wives in the past, it meant that even more men were being left completely alone with no family at all?
Why would I feel bad about a woman who married into the harem of a rich noble and gets taken care of just for being a girl?
While the low value males were just incel cannon fodder, working themselves to death just to be fed scraps and being treated like shit.
Yeah, life sucked for pretty much everyone back then, but the average woman already had it much better. Society only gives a shit about women’s struggles though, and that’s likely never gonna change.
