How is suction mewing even a thing/supposed to help? Its a SUCTION, it isn’t applying pressure to the roof of your mouth.

Correct me if in wrong but this is my thinking:

Think about it like this- open your hand, then put your palm face down. Imagine this is the roof of your mouth. Now imagine you got one of those suction cups things and you stick it onto your palm. Theres nothing pushing the suction up!? In fact gravity is pulling the suction down and since its stuck to your palm (the roof of your mouth) it may even pull that down as well.
Gravity is pulling your tongue down, without constant thought it will continue to go down and thus never apply pressure to the roof of your mouth.

Therefore how about soft and hard mewing?

Hard mewing is def off the table bc as many of you dont know hard mewing activates the suprahyoid muscle (muscle under your neck). Worked enough it will get hypertrophied. This is what happened to me. I used to hard mew all the time and the muscles under my jaw got bigger, giving me a double chin look.

As for soft mewing it should do the same thing.



Mike Mew himself says this is the correct way to mew, not soft or hard mewing. Therefore hes probably bs too.
