First thing first. People don't give referrals for freshers It's just how it is. Referrals means someone who has already seen your work and can vouch for you and as freshers you are liability and a risk to their reputation in the organization. Unless it literally comes from a VP or C suite executive in upper management no body give referrals to freshers. If you are someone with no experience you can ask your college alumni who are now in your target companies but chances are still very slim.

Now if you do have a experience. I would target insiders with real influence. These are people are in your domain but have positional power in adjacent departments to Human Resources. Example finance ops, business excellence or tech strategy and can quietly influence the hiring manager and can influence your hiring manager.

Ofc the strongest referrals comes from the ones from upper management and from family members but if you don't have that luxury you can try contacting ex managers or colleagues who have seen your work on projects When asking anyone, keep it very low pressure. Share the exact job link from the company's career page, your tailored resume, and a short message like Make their job easy, attach everything if you still have their personal number or old project WhatsApp from past work, reach out there instead of LinkedIn. Much higher chances of replying

Referrals can get you far but they don't automatically mean you'll get the job. You still have to clear their rounds and pass through their brutal process. Big corps already have systems in place to ensure nepo hires are thoroughly vetted and once you land the role and deliver, the referral game flips in your favor permanently.
