This is jst a quick guide for people that cba to actually do research, if you find this unreliable feel free to conduct your own research
This post is for the people who are unsure about they're growth plates being open or not, I have seen alot of people posting about this so I just wanted to make a quick guide on how to check if they are open without having the ability to get an xray.
1. Age Range
If you’re 16-18 (male), there’s still a chance.
But some fuse early, if your over 19 your growth plates
will likely of fused. If your diet was good as a child and you were fit/healthy
your growth plates may still be open tho.
2. Knee Pain (Growth Spurts)
If your knees ache randomly, especially after activity or during rest, it could be growth plate stress.
Common during growth spurts.
Pain = potential activity = plates might still be open.
This is a good sign as it shows that your still growing at a decent rate.
3. Height Tracking
Measure morning height monthly (barefoot, wall method).
If you’re still gaining height your plates are likely open.
No height gain for 6+ months Probably fused.
if you properly want to check, try to change around your diet, it may help.
4. Puberty Signs
If your voice is still getting deeper, and
your also just growing facial hair this could be a sign of
your growth plates still being open.
6. Wrist Check
Feel around wrist/knee joints.
If bones feel “soft” or you notice gaps it could mean possible open plates.
Not reliable, but some use it.
But in the end the only way to truly check if your growth plates are open is to get an xray...
