How to Convince my Dentist

Okay i have some teeth issues, jaw issues + overbite and my dentist reccomended me something along with braces. Or a maxilla surgery if that doesn’t work. i feel like it would help with my chin and jawline more than braces and the other stuff but how do i convince him?
I am almost 18 years old (in ~1month)

Never trust a dentis, only trust an ortho if he somehow understands airways and in your case go straight to a maxilofacial surgeon.
