What is Hyaluronidase?

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme commonly used within the field of aesthetics to "dissolve" hyaluronic acid filler, and reverse any botches/migration when injecting this solution. This functions by spreading locally and breaking down unwanted filler gel tissue.

Supplies
(dm for sourcing)

- Hyaluronidase (usually comes in 1500iu vials)
- Sterile saline for reconstitution
- Insulin syringe (29-31g is standard)
- Alcohol prep pads and gloves
- Lidocaine if preferred (numbing agent)

Prep and Administration
Mixing:
1.
Reconstitute your hyaluronidase powder, and add 2-3ml of sterile saline into the vial.
2. Draw solution into your syringe.

Dissolving:
1. Disinfect injection sites and nearby skin tissue before beginning
2. Mark your area of unwanted filler results by tracing around the perimeter
3. Inject small amounts directly into the gel pockets, keep it subdermal and not too deep into muscle tissue (10-30 units per 0.1ml of filler)
4. Massage gently after injection is complete to encourage the solution to spread

  • Swelling and inflammation afterwards is normal, any burning sensations typically dissipate after a few hours.
  • Avoid blood thinners or alcohol 1-2 days prior to injecting.
  • Older filler may require several sessions but no more than 2-3 per site. (Higher risk of natural tissue damage)

Having done filler on myself over the years, botches do occur but very rarely. The few occasions where I've done so were at most minor but asymmetric placements to some degree. Most normies barely even register these things since overall harmony matters more. At some people will subconsciously recognize it as another natural but minor "flaw" that all people have.
I have had a situation before however where I overdid my gonions, due to this being a unanchored this region is, as well as constantly moving on an axis, it's very easy to overfill or miss the proper placement which resulted in my filler migrating to the mandible and towards the backend of my ramus.

Fortunately I had hyaluronidase on hand and mitigated the issue within a few hours. Nowadays I do use a specific setup when doing anything related to the gonions, it's quite difficult to inject accurately and seeing what you're doing at the same time. Almost injected myself in the neck once without realizing it due to this. :PepeSerious:

I've attached a couple threads I wrote relating to other aspects and guides when it comes to my own experience with filler over the years. All other looksmaxxes I've tried are, and will be posted on my page within the next few weeks, thanks for reading:DankPepe:
