My jaw and bottom row of teeth are tilted down to the left and my bottom row of teeth naturally lines up a little to the left of my top teeth. What causes this and what can I do?

Are you trying to fix it or are you just living with it?Lol I have this too
I will get invisalignAre you trying to fix it or are you just living with it?
Is it just your teeth that are canted or is your jaw canted as well?I will get invisalign
Very slightly but not noticeable so it doesn't matter. Is your left eye also lower than the right one?
BothIs it just your teeth that are canted or is your jaw canted as well?
Can invisalign affect your jaw?Both
Some dentist websites said it can, I think if the assymetry isn't skeletal then invisalign can affect it, but I have crooked teeth anyawys so invisalign will at least be helpful for thatCan invisalign affect your jaw?
have you thought about surgery or implants? Some dentist websites said it can, I think if the assymetry isn't skeletal then invisalign can affect it, but I have crooked teeth anyawys so invisalign will at least be helpful for that
Nah unless I need surgery to fix the teethhave you thought about surgery or implants?
One thing i notice tho is that my masseters are also weaker on the strogner side. I think chewing on one side caused this, and I found this reddit thread from a gay dude who supposedly fixed his asssymetry by chewing. Honestly best bet is to just ask an orthodontisthave you thought about surgery or implants?

Nah it's canted, I was thinking that u could hide it tho with chewingIs your assymetry just that one side of your jaw is bigger or is it actually canted?
the thing is tho if the jaw is canted I don't think the muscles are going to be symmetrical meaning the muscle will be lower on the lower part of the jaw and vice versa which means that developing those muscles can increase asymmetry theoreticallyNah it's canted, I was thinking that u could hide it tho with chewing
Yeah I probably will just wait for an xray and orthodontist opinion i dont wanna do something retarded and fuck up my jaw for goodthe thing is tho if the jaw is canted I don't think the muscles are going to be symmetrical meaning the muscle will be lower on the lower part of the jaw and vice versa which means that developing those muscles can increase asymmetry theoretically
Yeah also have you looked into surgery at all. If the teeth are canted because the jaw I think it's better to treat the root of the problemYeah I probably will just wait for an xray and orthodontist opinion i dont wanna do something retarded and fuck up my jaw for good
Btw you should look into this.Yeah I probably will just wait for an xray and orthodontist opinion i dont wanna do something retarded and fuck up my jaw for good
Yeah I was hoping that's why cause my jaw pops when I open sometimesBtw you should look into this.
It might be a dislocated TMJ that causes your jaw to be canted. If so that's good news I think since that's not too hard to fix
If I have to do surgery and it's covered by insurance then ill prolly just do surgeryYeah also have you looked into surgery at all. If the teeth are canted because the jaw I think it's better to treat the root of the problem
Btw when you feel your jaw is it that one side is just lower or is it that the ramus is tilted (on both sides in the same direction) which causes the tilted jaw?Yeah I was hoping that's why cause my jaw pops when I open sometimes
Apparently tmj reduction (the surgery that fixes dislocated tmj) is only a few grandIf I have to do surgery and it's covered by insurance then ill prolly just do surgery
just save for braces not worthI will get invisalign
Isn't invisalign more expensive?just save for braces not worth
An entire side is lower like chin ramus everythingBtw when you feel your jaw is it that one side is just lower or is it that the ramus is tilted (on both sides in the same direction) which causes the tilted jaw?
They do the same thing but braces are more uncomfortablejust save for braces not worth
says who , any good orthodontist would tell you braces >They do the same thing but braces are more uncomfortable
no its significantly cheaperIsn't invisalign more expensive?
My ortho literally said I should get invisalignsays who , any good orthodontist would tell you braces >
I'm saying feel what direction each ramus is going in. If they are both going to the right or left it is possible your joint isn't in the right positionAn entire side is lower like chin ramus everything
my left ramus is straight and my right ramus is tilted left if thats what u meanI'm saying feel what direction each ramus is going in. If they are both going to the right or left it is possible your joint isn't in the right position
Put a finger in front of each ear and feel the joint that moves when your jaw opens. Try to see if they are levelmy left ramus is straight and my right ramus is tilted left if thats what u mean
Ill just wait for an xrayPut a finger in front of each ear and feel the joint that moves when your jaw opens. Try to see if they are level
Also ngl I think the assymetry wont even matter that much if both sides of your jaw are above averagePut a finger in front of each ear and feel the joint that moves when your jaw opens. Try to see if they are level
Yo look at this this dude had a canted jaw corrected by orthodontics
Dont get invisalign. Had it, it fixed my upper row, but lower row still not ideal, surgery is the only option, when it comes to lower rowDang I'm seeing a doctor this Wednesday did u get your xray yet?
I gotta wait and see what it is but I feel my jaw joints when I open my jaw and the right one is like half a finger higher than the left so I think the joint might be dislocated or somethingDont get invisalign. Had it, it fixed my upper row, but lower row still not ideal, surgery is the only option, when it comes to lower row
Nah not yet, my ortho is like fully bookedDang I'm seeing a doctor this Wednesday did u get your xray yet?
Do you have an overbite? Invisalign/braces cant fix skeletal assymetries if ur done growingDont get invisalign. Had it, it fixed my upper row, but lower row still not ideal, surgery is the only option, when it comes to lower row
It depends what it is. If it is a problem with a joint you need a different surgery or treatmentJaw angle implants or maybe modified bimax. Not much else you can do.
