They look similar to fruit flies but they're way more annoying and constantly fly into your nose, mouth and ears and buzz around your face constantly. They go into the toilet bowl and then directly in your face after. Disgusting creatures. Literally feed on anything from toilet water and rotten food to dead skin cells. They even like cigarette ash.
I've been dealing with these little fuckers for two weeks. It all happened overnight. I can't even have a sip of water without a fly drowning itself in it. I only have some peace at night, but as soon as the sun comes up, they're swarming around my head incessantly. I've laid out traps and hundreds have drowned, but there are just too many. I'm about to resort to WWII nazi methods and fumigate my apartment with hydrogen cyanide (learnt that from a former nazi neighbor who tried to kill me), but there are children living in the building and I don't want to go to jail for child murder. So what else can I do? I'm not a fan of insecticides and organophosphates due to their toxicity. If I lived alone, I'd just end them with carbon monoxide. Any advice on how to get rid of scuttle flies?

They're about the same size as fruit flies but darker in color and have a hunchback. They're way less picky in their diet and their favorite dish is human face.
