That’s actually a terrible haircut. It will look bad if you’re average or ugly-looking.

Flat hair means your hair is too fine, too weighted down with natural oils, a combination of both, or too dense and needs to be thinned out.

Whatever your hair type, don’t use any terribly stripping product to wash your hair. If you have fine hair, use almost no styling product; let it air dry and maybe finish with a light blow drying. If you have coarse hair, you can be more generous with the styling product and blowdrying.

If you don’t have the right haircut though, all of that is near-pointless.
To achieve texture, you have to subtly intersperse cutting “into” the hair, i.e. against the direction of growth at varying lengths.

It’s the most similar to my hair but mine is flat and longer on the sides. I’m too high inhib to get an actual haircut

This and you also cut your hair at slightly different lengths to create texture. Imagine not going to a 100 dollar barber JFL.

I just tell them to cut my hair with those funky scissors and it works well enough.

High IQ. I personally feel that styles where the hair is styled up and away from the forehead are an enormous halo
