The problem with men is that they fuck 2+ points below their looksmatch, to women they have zero intention of committing to, ruining those women forever because of hedonic adaptation. I think on some level men know this, and just don't care.
The problem with women is that they will do this, and then lie through their teeth to the guy later on where the desire for commitment is mutual. That guy will never really push their buttons like the guy before, but they lie to get that commitment, wronging the new guy in the process. And what's more, if my a miracle the original guy 2+ points above them offers commitment, they will get bored of him and move on, 'lose desire' etc.
The only way to overcome this is for guys to collectively refuse to have sex with women they won't commit to, but this won't ever happen.
