First we will go over increasing your barefoot height even if your growth plates are closed.
Things that can be done ( not including surgeries )
1. Bettering posture
2. Increasing spinal length ( removing decompression of the spine )
For one, look into if you have lordosis/kyphosis/forward neck posture and fix these.
For two, take glucasomine/MSM this is good for your joints and your discs and helps to put more water into your spinal discs which helps to fight against decompression.
Avoid doing back squats, and deadlifts, and rucking and weight bearing exercises that put heavy pressure on your spine.
Sleep on your back for 8+ hours a night, put a pillow under your leg to prop it up.
Hang from a pull up bar.
Do cat/camels.
Take a chair and lay on your back and prop your feet on your chair at a 90 degree angle and let it reset your spinal compression and take force off your back.
By doing this you could potentially gain about an inch depending on how bad your posture and spinal compression is and also should feel better and have less pain in your back.
Next thing is to increase your shoe height.
Nike Air Max 720's are comfortable sneakers that you can run and play sports in ( ran my fastest 200M time in them ) that will add 1 and 10/16ths of an inch.
If you want even more of a boost you can put up to about a maximum of a 1/2 inch insole in your shoe. You can buy a plantar fasciitis insole from your regular grocery store and throw it inside and it will give you about a boost of a little over 2 inches to your shoe height.
If you were to implement all of these things along with growing the top of your hair out it can increase the perception of your height by close to 3 inches of added height.
