This is not bone growth. This is spinal decompression, posture correction, and frauding. Use common sense, don’t be retarded with tension, and stop if something feels genuinely off. That’s it.

Wait, how tall are you again? I thought you were like 6 foot

That’s what a guy I met recently said after knowing me for months. Im actually 5'9.

I’ve always been average height on paper, but after consistently applying the methods in this thread, my measured and perceived height changed enough that people started mentally reclassifying me.

That’s when I realized this deserved a proper write-up.

This thread covers one of the most underrated, highest ROI softmaxes on this forum:
height-maxxing via spinal decompression, posture correction, and height boosters.

No surgery. No cope. No fantasy bone growth.

Just extracting height you already have but aren’t using.

Why Height Matters (briefly, because you already know)

Height is tied to dominance biology. Taller men are consistently perceived as:

  • more authoritative
  • more competent
  • more sexually dimorphic
5,900+ Tall And Short Stock Photos, Pictures & Royalty-Free Images - iStock | Tall and short person, Tall and short people, Tall and short couple

Statistically:

  • taller men earn more on average
  • height correlates positively with leadership selection
  • dating data consistently favors above-average height
Everyone already understands that crossing certain height thresholds changes social treatment.

This guide is about getting closer to those thresholds nonsurgically (Limb-Lengthening is extremely risky)

Spinal Compression & Hidden Height

Your spine is not a rigid rod.

It’s a segmented column with discs that compress under gravity all day.

By nighttime:

  • you’re commonly 0.5–1 inch shorter than in the morning
  • bad posture compounds this loss
Slouching, forward head posture, rounded shoulders, and anterior pelvic tilt all collapse vertical height.

Most men are walking around compressed and misaligned.

That’s the opportunity.

Common Spinal Cord Compression Causes and Signs & Treatment | Med ...

Banded Sleeping (Spinal Decompression Method)

This is the core method.

Banded sleeping is sustained spinal traction while lying down, usually during sleep.

The Mechanism (simple version)

  • Gravity compresses spinal discs during the day
  • Traction reduces this compression
  • Discs rehydrate and expand slightly
  • Vertebrae separate marginally
  • Total spinal length increases temporarily
Same reason astronauts gain height (around 2 inches) in zero gravity.

Same reason you’re taller in the morning.

You’re just extending that state.

OIP.j40INXpGb4kahGU2bLv75wAAAA

Setup Overview

  • One elastic band applies upward traction near the shoulders / head
  • Another applies downward traction at the ankles / feet
  • You lie supine on a firm mattress
  • Tension is noticeable but relaxed
You’re not stretching bones.
You’re unloading the spine.

A visual explanation is better than text, so here’s the reference videos that popularized it:

Banded Sleeping Explanation:

Banded Sleeping Demonstration:

Watch it once and you’ll immediately understand the concept.

Results

  • Immediate morning height increase: ~1–2 inches
  • Reduced daily height loss
  • Improved spinal alignment over time
  • Makes posture work far more effective
It takes a few months for this gain to happen. In my experience, I "grew' about 1 inch in the first 3 months and 0.25 in the last 3 months, I'll do another update at the end of the year to see if I reach the 2-inch threshold. This is a temporary gain, if you stop you will most likely shrink down in a few months, but it's very long-lasting. You could stop for like a week, and you would keep most of your gains. Consistency matters because posture adapts around decompressed alignment.

Warning: Sleeping like this is hell, the first month is the hardest, you'll probably sleep like shit, but it IS possible, you just have to adapt to it.

Posture Correction (Permanent Gains)

This is where height sticks. I notice so many people in public with shitty posture, they have forward neck posture, rounded shoulders, and look like hunched fools.

Poor posture doesn’t just look bad, it physically shortens you.

Key contributors:

  • forward head posture
  • rounded shoulders
  • weak upper back
  • weak core and glutes
  • anterior pelvic tilt
Fixing these re-stacks your skeleton vertically. You can do this via a plethora of exercises and just being aware of your posture throughout day to day life.

Typical permanent gains:

  • 0.5–1 inch over months
Not overnight, but real.

Once posture is corrected, you don’t “lose” this height.
SHAPERKY Posture Corrector for Men and Women - Adjustable Upper Back ...

Height Boosters (Footwear Maxxing)

This is the most obvious and most ignored part.

  • Elevator shoes
  • Insoles
  • Thick-soled sneakers or boots
+1–2 inches instantly, zero effort.

A lot of people you think are “naturally tall” are just doing this + posture. Just make sure to not get caught doing this.

Stacking the Gains (This Is the Key)

Here’s where people underestimate the total effect.

  • Spinal decompression: 1–2 inches (temporary)
  • Posture correction: 0.5–1 inch (permanent)
  • Height boosters: 1–2 inches (instant)
alone, these may seem small but combined together, these stack.

Example Scenario

Guy is 5’9 on paper.

  • Fixes posture: now effectively ~5'9.5-5'10
  • Uses banded sleeping: wakes up ~5’10.5–6’0
  • Wears subtle height-boosting footwear: ~6’0.5–6’2
That’s how you get the “almost 6’2” effect people talk about.

No surgery, just optimization of your spine.

Closing Notes

Best non-cope method to heightmaxx.

It’s simply:

  • spinal mechanics
  • posture biology
  • presentation psychology
Most men leave 1–4 inches unused every day.

If height matters (and it does), this is one of the highest ROI softmaxes available.

If people want, I can:

  • add posture routines that specifically maximize vertical stacking
  • or make a condensed version for lazycels

I don't want to have to do banded sleeping every single night JFL

How long before you dont have to do it anymore

Also you forgot about glucosamine and MSM supplementation for spinal cartilage

Impossible to sleep with banded straps on. It's hard af. I used to do microfractures and stretch legs only for hours and then sleep without them.
Can u sleep 7 days a week banded?

The change isnt permenant but you could still acheive "growth" if you do it every other night, just slower. And if your consistent for a few months you get 1-2 inches but as soon as you stop you "shrink" back down to normal size within a few months. Theoretically if you wanted you could take a break tho for a week or two and keep most of your gains.

At first no, its extremely hard, you will sleep like shit. But around 1-2 months in It became easy, now I get normal sleep because I'm used to it, 8-9 hours a night.

So its a waste of time then if there's absolutely zero consolidation of gains, might as well wear lifts rather than torture self to sleep

Ppl actually grow taller doing this method.
I should get bk to it

What if somebody lost like a centimeter from some back injury previously, and he did this for like 3 months, and then stopped.

The extra gains from the stretching would fade away yeah,

But would he at least gain that centimeter back permanently (that he lost due to some bulging compressed disc)

Depends, if it was from excess spinal compression, the cartilage and spinal decompression could fix it permanently but I'm not sure, its all theoretical.
